More tips for preparing for the big day:

Four to six weeks before moving day:

• Call us to make your reservation!
• Buy packing supplies (boxes, tape, bubble wrap, etc.). You can purchase these items from us if you choose.
• Start sorting out your belongings; Before a move is a great time to or sell/donate/throw away unused or unwanted items.
• Contact the post office for change of address cards

Three to four weeks before moving day:

• Get a head start on packing! We suggest packing anything you won't be needing in the next couple of weeks (such as out-of-season clothing, home decor, etc.)
• Organize important paperwork and other items you need to keep secure.

Two weeks before moving day:

• Send out the change of address cards, update information with your bank, etc.
• Schedule cancellation/transfer dates for services such as gas, electric, cable, etc. and schedule service start/transfer for your new home.
• Pack anything else you can, start cleaning out cupboards, etc.

Moving week:

• Start packing remaining items, be sure to clearly label boxes and properly secure items like mirrors or glass with appropriate packing materials.
• Finish selling, donating, or otherwise clearing out items you will not be taking with you.
• Make sure all boxes are properly labeled!
• Set aside a box of necessities you will need for your first night in your new home: water, paper towels, first aid, tooth brushes/other toiletries, etc.

Moving day:

• Be present when the movers arrive.
• Rest assured we will use proper equipment to avoid damage to your home and any belongings.
• Make sure the necessities box is set aside where you can easily access and unpack it when you get to your new home!
